Vacation

I'm going to visit the family over the 4th, so I'll be out for the next week and a half.

Alright, that's all.

Asparagus is pretty disgusting.

I was in Germany for a brief time a few years back. The food is actually pretty good. There was this Turkish Gyro stand I ate at like daily. They put like curry or something on the lamb, good stuff.

Then again, when I tried to order a brat (like this: http://www.johnsonville.com/home/products/brats/original-bratwurst.html#) I got a big hotdog, which was pretty disappointing.

Actually, Asparagus is pretty damn tasty. If you have white asparagus, that is. I know green asparagus take some getting used to.

There's no one type of Bratwurst in Germany. I've heard some places list up to 40 different types in Germany. The Bratwurst I know is a pale whitish-gray before you fry it. It's usually Nürnberger Rostbratwurst (that's the small ones. Nuremberg they're called in English, I think.), or Kulmbacher/Franconian (Franconia is the north of Bavaria. The people there often insist on being called "Francons", and deny being Bavarian. Because long in the past Franconia was a separate state, back around the time when Bavaria still had a king, I believe. My father is from that area, though he actually says he's Bavarian, probably mostly because it's more convenient to say Bavaria than explain the whole thing with Franconia every time. Kulmbach is the town where much of my family from my father's side lives.) Bratwurst, which is pale whiteish-grey like Nuremberg Bratwurst too. No wonder really, since both Kulmbach and Nürnberg are located in Franconia, so Kulmbacher and Nünberger Bratwurst are variations of the general group "Franconian Bratwurst".

So it is possible that some Bratwurst might resemble Hot Dogs in some way, though I highly doubt it. Hot Dog sausage is...eww if eaten without toppings, I find. It's just not palatable without something on top. Bratwurst however can be eaten without anything if you so desire, as

Are you sure you didn't accidentally order a Rindswurts? They're reddish, and have a much tougher skin. They're made from beef instead of Pork, as the name suggests: "Rind" being "beef".

Also, next time you visit Germany, you should try Currywurst, which is cut Bratwurst with a Ketchup Sauce and Curry, which is so German it's actually the standard Cantina meal at the Volkswagen factories. :)

I'd also suggest Weißwurst (White Sausage", but I know some people find it weird, and don't like it. You have to make sure not to eat the skin, and eat it with rough, sweet mustard (special Weißwurstsenf is available in most supermarkets here in Germany).

In any case, have fun on your vacation, and don't get run over by a bus or something, mkay?

Mmm. Bratwurst. I haven't had one of those in a long time. I recently had black pudding, but it wasn't as tasty as I had hoped it would be.

Anyhow, enjoy your trip, Dirtywick.

So how was it?

This seems to be a solution for BG1's graphical glitches on your GTS...

Actually, the solution on post #1 in that linked thread may be simpler/better, since you're not going to up the resolution anyway.

You reach the graphical options menu from the general options menu once you're in the game. Weird that you can't set these options before you start, but the game's pretty old...
